Ceramics committees

The Ceramics Society embraces a number of different groups and committees, whose areas of interest are outlined below.

Building Materials Committee

Working to represent the interests of the building materials community which includes, but is not limited to, bricks, pipes, floor and roof tiles, pavers, terracotta ware, chimneys and flue systems, chemically resistant masonry and raw materials.

 

Cementitious Materials Committee

The committee's mission is to provide support and educational activities for those who have an interest in the science and technology of traditional and specialist cements and concretes.

 

Ceramic Science Committee

The committee membership seeks to represent the interests of the academic and industrial communities in terms of developing a detailed understanding of the underpinning science behind the manufacture and use of ceramic materials.

 

International Clay Technology Association (ICTa)

The International Clay Technology Association was founded in 2006 as a result of a merger between the Institute of Clay Technology and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. The mission of ICTa is to promote heavy clay technology on a UK and international basis and to provide its members with opportunities to broaden their professional outlook, skills and qualifications, thus enabling them to face change with greater confidence and thereby help secure a dynamic future for the heavy ceramics industry.

 

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Committee

The RIC Committee will interpret the IOM3 and especially the CID Board policy and inform members of the Institute and any other person having an interest in the sector, on all relevant matters.

 

Whitewares Committee

The group works to represent the interests of the whitewares community, which includes, but is not limited to, tiles, tableware, sanitaryware manufacturing, the science of whitewares, current research activities and related industries.
