Assignment Preparation Course

Students who take the Diploma and Certificate courses need to submit an assignment(s) as part of the qualification.  The Packaging Society offer an assignment preparation day to assist students in the planning, research and writing of their assignment.

The programme will consist of:

Writing an assignment

  • Choosing a topic
  • Identifying sources of information
  • Preparing a plan

Academic writing

  • Conventions
  • Writing style
  • Structuring your work
  • Avoiding plagiarism
  • Production requirements

 

Breakdown of set topics

  • Tutor introduction of topics, followed by tutor-supported group work on selected topics

 

During the final session students will have the opportunity to explore the set topics in depth, and learn how to structure and present their work to its best advantage. It is not necessary to have already started to writing the assignment, although it may be t beneficial to have already thought about the set topics and how to deal with each one.

 

The cost of the day is £130 plus VAT for members and £160 + VAT for non members
