As part of the restructuring process, The Board meets on a more frequent basis in order to maintain the momentum of activities. Therefore the following board meetings were held during 2010:

3. Opportunities for growth of Division Community or constraints
2010 saw the Iron and Steel Society implement its plans for reform in line with the recommendations put forward by the working group. The Board now meets every 8 weeks in order to maintain momentum of activities.
The situation for delegates traveling and attending conferences seems to have eased slightly during 2010 although delegate numbers for conferences are still lower than before. A number of international conferences due to be held in 2010 were either cancelled or postponed.
