notably DTI and EC funded; training courses on spring design, materials
selection and failure prevention.
Typical projects
undertaken: Failure analysis on emergency basis to solve breakdown problems
and safety issues; design and validation of spring designs; multi-client and
multi-national research projects including BRITE, CRAFT, SPRINT; comparative
testing for evaluation of new products, notably high strength materials and
corrosion prevention systems; design of fatigue testing machine for special
purpose; design and build of load test apparatus; training courses tailored to
clients requirements.
Overseas experience: IST have
clients throughout the world, but Europe and USA are the countries of origin of
the majority of clients.
