Services offered: General materials technology with a bias towards corrosion. Generally: materials selection advice; exposure tests; electrochemical corrosion tests; mechanical tests; failure investigations; identification of contaminants and foreign bodies in food, etc.; electron microscopy (scanning) and energy dispersive X ray analysis; optical microscopy; salt spray corrosion testing; metallography.

Typical projects undertaken: All types of corrosion failure investigated, e.g., boiler tubes, stainless alloys in chemical plant. Routine mechanical (e.g., tensile, hardness) tests and special projects for corrosion and mechanical properties. Mechanical fracture investigations. Electron microscopy of metals, plastics, paper, fibres, food, cosmetics, etc. Site investigations on condition of metals in civil engineering structures. Specialist training in materials science and technology, custom designed and delivered in house for companies.
