The UK Brick Awards 2013 showcased the best of an international selection of contractors, brickmakers and architects. Here are the winners…


The Supreme Winner: Ortus, London, UK
Architect: Duggan Morris Architects
Brickwork contractor: Mara Build
Brick: Freshfield Lane – Mix 1: First Quality Multi facings on the light side. Mix 2: Special Blend 90% Selected Dark facings, 10% Selected Light facings

The judges greatly admired the blend of brickwork on this building, moving from dark to light to represent the graduation from earth to the sky, as well as the warmth that the choice of brick created internally.

Best Craftsmanship Award: The Plantation, Essex, UK
Architect: Paul Elwood

Brick: W H Collier – Primrose yellow

 

Specialist Brickwork Contractor of the Year: Reussir Ltd, Cardiff, UK
The judges said that the three projects presented showed the consistently high quality work of the Welsh contractor.
