Nominations are invited for the 2019 International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM22, Melbourne Australia) Student Paper Award which is of £1000 towards expenses of attending the conference.
Students must be members of IOM3 either at a UK university, or at an overseas university with, or working towards, an IOM3 accredited course status, or with an active Young Members’ Forum. They must be enrolled at the university at the time of submitting their abstract and be the first author and presenter of the paper.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible.
Nominations can be made by the student’s adviser or by the student themselves provided that the nomination is accompanied by a letter of support from the adviser.
Application is by a 2 page abstract making a short case on the benefits of attending the conference and why the funding is needed; in addition confirmation of eligible status is required from the university.
The best paper will be recommended for approval by the divisional board by a British Composites Society sub-committee based on importance and originality of the research and clarity of presentation.
The nomination deadline is the end of October 2018, the conference is due to be held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 11-16 August 2019. Notification of provisional acceptance will be given one month before the ICCM abstract deadline which is 20 December 2018, the award will be subject to confirmation of acceptance of the paper by the conference.
The paper will also be submitted for the Tsai best student paper award.
