Technician of the Year award winners 2007

The winners of the Technician of the Year Awards for 2007 were announced in May 2008.


Nigel HaywoodNigel Haywood

Higher award

Nigel Haywood of Ibstock Brick, who is studying a Ceramic Technology – Kiln Firing course, took the higher award. His distance learning BTEC with Staffordshire University saw him develop a programme to save night time energy at Ibstock’s Leciester plant.

 

 

 

 

Kate RoundKate Round

National award

The national award was given to Kate Round of BMW UK Manufacturing. Her day release foundation degree in Metallurgy and Materials at Bradford University has seen her liaise with suppliers around the world to test and monitor cleanliness with regards to BMW’s Vanos system for car engines.
